The Mane Six of FIM by AliasForRent The Mane Six of FIM by AliasForRent
Or Main Six to be exact, they're not ponies here.

Of course these gals are the Mane Six from MLP: FIM and of course I had to draw them as humans because as an artist, you got the right to draw them as humans! So here's my take on them, generic but I like it. T'was really fun to draw them all. Especially Pinkie Pie and Twilight....and Rarity....and Applejac- okay everypony.

Mane 6 from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is created & developed by Lauren Faust :iconfyre-flye:, and owned © Hasbro

Twilight's cheek looks off. It looks like it collapsed then receded into her skull. Just saying.

Oh, wait, that was just her hair. My bad. You should really sweep that aside, as it looks really fucking creepy from a distance.

I like the little details you put on Applejacks chaps/jeans. The little stitches, something no item of denim clothing should be without, are excellently done.

I like the vibes of felt and chalk and from the colouring style. It's very unique, and gives a very friendly aura to the girls. They look so very cartoonish, and very, very fun. Kind of pastel, without being sickeningly sweet. The shadowing looking very much like smudges from chalk dust were a very big plus.

Lovely anatomy. I like the semi-realistic human proportions, most especially with how the heads are just as wide as the torso. I always draw my human-like characters with that sort of proportion, as I could never get the "two heads width" chest down.

I love the hourglass shapes for the girls, especially in how they take their time tapering inwards and outwards. Extreme hourglass figures, the ones that are way too wide and dip in too sharply, always creep me out, and even though these girls still have "Dem Hips" I find them very natural looking and attractive.

Those thighs and ankles. Good God, man, well done! I love how you have the musculature down, since they curve so naturally, have meat on them, yet don't look bulky at all. (I just spent five minutes trying to find the right anatomical terms for what I was trying to say. I failed.)

Same deal with the arms. I like how they follow realistic musculature yet still look cartoony and stylised. Props to the transition from forearm to wrist; I could never get that right, and I like how they look very natural.

Those hands and fingers. Five of them (fingers), without looking bulky, and very, very nice. I like the simplistic design on them, with them just being simple "weenie fingers" yet still looking natural and very good. I especially like how Fluttershy splayed them out and Rarity and Twilight's keeping their pointers on their wands to stabilise them. Also, nice work on the various poses on them; I like how they look as they're supposed to when gripping a book, pointing at someone, or holding an object like a wand.

Feet! I like how they're incredibly simple, just oblongs in the skeleton below, I suppose, yet still look very natural and not weird at all. Props to Applejack's boots especially, since I love boots that actually retain their shape and support both the foot and the lower thigh region. I also liked Rainbow Dash's skates since they follow that bizarre, very appealing "hourglass" style.

My apologies in advance: boobies. I like how natural they look and how their clothing just treats their breasts like a natural curve. They don't bring too much attention to their chests, and give the their appearances a very classy, feminine look. I also like the, um, variety between the girls; very realistic, and the sizes fit the personalities and the lifestyles of the girls. Kudos to not making Fluttershy the one with the biggest assets; I honestly don't mind when artists do that, but it's nice to see someone not following that trend.

This comment has gone on for too long. I'm afraid something will crash if I don't post this soon. Will continue in the reply.

HAIR STYLES! Lovely transition from mane to human hair. I could never get that gray area at the back of the ears right. Kudos especially to Pinkie's hair with their cotton candy bounciness; I like how they don't branch off in this version, like they do with the original.

Excellent work with the volume with Rarity's; it's interesting how I can see that distinctive curve yet can't tell the difference where it separates from her scalp and hangs free. That distinction always gets me whenever I try to draw hair; so hard to find that ever elusive hairline.

I love Fluttershy's hair; I enjoy the parting between what is usually the front and the back part of her mane, and the way it caves in over her face was excellently done. It really captures the style's purpose of being a shield from the eyes of other people.

Wow. Rainbow's hair is smoking. Seriously speaking, though, I love the flame like style and how energetic and spiky the whole thing was while still retaining the general wave-like shape of RD's hair. Once again, could never get that right. I like how the bottom part of her hair is a lot more tame compared to the top; very nice contrast, and it really amplifies how wicked the upper region is. Excellent work with that bit in front of her ear, by the way.

Ack, clothing styles! Just love how they're so individualized and really fit the person who's wearing them. I enjoy the frills and looseness coupled with those leggings and the candy striper socks. SOCKS! Good God, I love them. The simple slip ons were a nice choice for footwear.

Good Lord with Applejack. I like how her flannel shirt is worn open with it tied across her chest and the sleeves rolled up. The tube top(?) inside was lovely, most especially with how it bares her cleavage. I cannot write that without feeling perverted. Sorry. Excellent work with her iconic hat, and once again, nice work with the boots and those pants.

Ah yes. Sweater vests. I must say, this recurring theme with Twilight never quite gets old. I like how practical her whole outfit is, and very fitting for a busy student like her who is more concerned with comfort and practicality than anything else.

... I can't really find words for Rarity. Nor a reaction image, because I don't really know what sort of image is between the Big Bad Wolf from Red Hot Riding Hood and a double-take on the street. I like her simple, sensible button up top, most especially with how it is not buttoned all the way up and the sleeves puff up by the end. Nice work with the belt, especially with the simple buckle, and the skirt that goes along with it; I love how the latter accentuates her lady assets. The boots were a nice touch, very diva like and appropriate for Rarity.

Cliché "HHHNNNNNNGGGGG!" for Fluttershy. Though I picture her as a mare who more or less wears an apron with many, many pockets or something similar to throw over a sun dress or even some tough pants and a shirt, I like how your Fluttershy's outfit is so unassuming and simple. The coat being so loose and clearly oversized was an excellent detail, as were the footwear, which I assume to be tough, reliable moccasins. Very fitting for her.

Oh, God, I think I need more coffee or something. Be back with you in a sec.

Nah, false alarm, I'm back.

What made you think that a scarf would be a nice idea? Because it is a great idea. A very great idea. I love how it is prismatic just like her hair itself, and the way it hangs kind of loose around her neck was lovely. The loose shirt and the short shorts were great choices, most especially in how it makes sense for Dash. The safety pads and the gloves too, as it gives her some semblance of sensible thought: do insane, dangerous stunts, but at the very least, wear elbow and knee pads and gloves so you don't skin yourself. And finally: SOCKS. Socks that reach up to her thigh, too. (bites lower lip.)

Somehow, I feel like I've walked a marathon or something. Once more, be back with you in a sec.

I like those little lines that denote cleavage and the one along Applejack's back. So nice to know that the girls assets are well supported.

I'm so, so sorry about that.

I'm loving those wings. I may have an issue with how Fluttershy's are spaced so far apart. Rainbow Dash's, on the other hand, I have no issue with; in fact, I love them. They look so unruly, wild, and powerful; the image of huge bunches of long, lean feathers just branching out is one that I really like.

Finally, we can come to an end to this madness. Maybe.

FACIAL EXPRESSIONS and FACE STRUCTURES! I love how basically their faces remain the same shape all throughout, as if their chins didn't move. The lack of a defined spot for their lips was excellent, as I think the unrealistic places they end up in when making an expression only add to the beauty and friendliness of the style. The lines denoting their noses that run all the way up to their foreheads were excellent, most especially in how they divide the face into its two clear halves.

Pinkie Pie is adorable. I love that tiny, barely perceptible chip in her tooth, and how you did the colouring of the inside of her mouth and her tongue. I like how it looks like. Wait, that was... oh, I don't even know anymore. Just keep going, I guess.

The eyes and eyelashes were excellent. I love how they're just one solid colour (the eyes) yet still have a semblance of direction and expression in their sparkle, even though there technically IS no sparkle. I like how thick the eyelashes are, with you making sure we can see them and that they really add to the expressiveness of their faces.

That bump that is her nose is freaking adorable. (shiver)

I like how you gave Applejack lips. Too often, I just use thin lines and to see the curvature and volume of actual lips along with a great natural colour that mixes well with the skin tone is both refreshing (to me) and impressive (to your style). Once again, I like how the pupils are just one solid colour yet you can still tell the direction, and the eyelashes are so thick and visible. I have a small problem with her nose, but that's just my issue with noses that stick out like that. I like that expression on her face that just says "Y'all called?"

Again, my issue with the sharp, pointy nose. I like, however, that Twilight is just smiling a little as she performs yet another spell. The presence of eyebrows was both surprising AND impressive; I like how you added that little detail, and gave them colour and a little thickness. Makes them look natural, and better, than just thin black lines or none at all, methinks.

Again, with the presence of lips! Wow, those are awesome. I like the bit of eyeshadow, but most of all, I like the use of her eyebrows to convey her bemused expression. They really, really speak out to me, especially with that bit of a smile. Her nose I have no complaints for; they fit milady Rarity perfectly.

Motherfaaaaaaa... adorable! I like that bit of thin line going past her little pucker up. It makes her look even more cute than she usually is. Her looking away in that "Oh, you!" expression makes me giggle and clutch my chest at the same time. Once more, excellent choice for nose structure; I would have used a more cute, button style, but oh well.

Rainbow Dash seems a bit too angular for me, but you get her competitive "Try me, I dare you!" aura down very, very well. The nose is my biggest issue, as well as how her eyes seem to be a bit too thin and angular in their design, but the cocky grin was perfect, as well as that little notch downwards on the side. It's those little facial twitches and ticks that get me.

Well! It seems I'm done here. I hope. Thanks for uploading this, on the Internet, for free.

Also, you have that MLP Promotions tumblr to thank for me getting here in the first place. Toodles.

PS. Better part of the day well spent, methinks.

Well dang that is quite a dissection of the picture right there! I'm surprised that you pointed out Pinkie Pie's chipped tooth/overbite (maybe)! I would write an equally long comment to reply, but I'll save time and say "dang, thanks a bunch!" The ticks you had with the drawing are justified to let you know!

The style on this is DIVINE. I love EVERY bit of it. The coloring also fits so swell with the style! Can I ask how do you make that fuzzy shading? I really like it!

That about the colors. on the matter of... well, the rest, I really, really like the poses. I think that every pose and expression capture each character´s personality flawlessly.

Lastly, I really like the variations on each one´s skin color and whatnot.

It´s just all so amazing. This goes to my favorites RIGHT NAO.

Critical? Your comment is anything but, really! I kinda knew Twilght's face will look weird because of how her head is positioned and plus her sideburns makes her face look all wicked weird and stuff. Helmet hair and all. So worry not, you're not being "too critical" and that's fine to kinda don't like it! I'd be more surprised if there wasn't anyone who doesn't like it.
